This is the beginnings of a Net.Book of a variant historical In Nomine setting, based on England in the post-Roman Dark Ages. Specifically, it is an Arthurian campaign setting, where the forces of Heaven and Hell align themselves along a fictionalized Camelot. It's somewhere between a bit of fiction to highlight the past, a campaign setting for people who might want to try something different, and a way to waste a truly colossal amount of my time.

This isn't a true "historical" setting -- while I've avoided Knights in silver plate armor charging on white stallions and wearing Crusader's outfits (and don't get me started on the anachronisms built into that image) I'm trying to get more of the "feel" of the Arthurian legends than not. That means playing fast with the real past, since I didn't feel like writing up a campaign setting where Artus the Roman Conquerer forces the Welsh to submit or somesuch. Language construction and syntax are largely modern as well.

You get the idea.

As this is meant for In Nomine, I've tried to follow what is known to be Canon for Arthurian times. In particular, Excalibur and Excalibur's Scabbard match the descriptions in the Liber Reliqueium. As I have no great desire to be sued for plagerism or to be shunned by the good people on the IN mailing list, statistics for these legendary relics won't be reproduced here.

Certain "Historical" Superiors, no longer available or alive in the present, appear here as well. These descriptions of them are wholly my own save where otherwise mentioned.

The source materials are set in and around a story of two angels who were there discussing the Camelot they remember with a Servitor of the Sword and one of her Soldiers of God. The story is being written to be IN Fanfic that hopefully doesn't suck too much. The game mechanics, statistics, adventure seeds and so on are meant to suggest ideas for a GM to run a game set in these times.
